Jacques Tati – Trafic poster art comparision

4. March 2009

A very nice and rare poster art printed by Lalande-Courbet for the film “Trafic” (1971) directed by Jacques Tati. I’m still waiting for a blu-ray release of this film and of course “Playtime” (1967) in 70 mm.

Actually the same art in cyan but with cars. I prefer the first one.

This is the title logo which appears in the beginning of the film. The dot of the “i” is squared.

The italian cover is an adaption from the french logo design.

This is the american film poster. The logo in the traffic sign is similar but has now two f (traffic) and comes in bright colors.

The Belgian film poster looks totally different and hasn’t got the logo.

The german poster, in my opinion the worst of all.

Their Satanic Majesties Request [1967]

29. September 2008

Original album artwork by Michael Cooper (1941-1973)*

* Limited first edition 3D cover
Later editions replaced the glued-on 3D image with a standard photo (see first image), due to high production costs. The master materials for re-printing the 3D cover were intentionally destroyed.
There’s a 3D cover replica mini LP (CD) reissue from Universal Music Japan. Unfortunately The Stones don’t turn their faces while moving the cover from left to right as the original 3D cover. It’s just a simple 3-layered room effect. And the image section of the 3D image is even smaller!

She’s A Rainbow/2000 Light Years From Home (Single)

There are 4 hidden faces on the album cover. If you can’t find them click “Read the rest of this entry »” to see them. If you click on the photo above you can find in a bigger size where they’re located.

Qui êtes-vous Polly Magoo?

12. December 2007

Director William Klein first came to Paris as an American soldier during the U.S. occupation. There he became a professional photographer and not long after became a filmmaker. It was this 1966 movie that served as Klein’s second full-length feature film but the first to gain international acclaim. Polly Maggoo… is a scandalous, razor-sharp mockery of the fashion world from a man who knew its inner workings from years of professional experience. Shot in stark monochrome, the film is a mod masterpiece, as perceptive and relevant (as well as hilarious) today as it was nearly 40 years ago. Klein ruthlessly satirizes the vapid, consumer-driven (yet utterly impractical) world of high-fashion and media culture and its damaged and egomaniacal denizens while entending to dear, sweet Polly a sense of affection. In the end she is just a buck-toothed, freckled girl from Brooklyn who is today’s flavor, tomorrow’s discarded doll.

Complete all three mazes – forest, castle and dungeon – and the game starts over at a faster speed. Continue playing, increasing your score, until all of your knight’s lives are lost.

MARIO BROS. [MULTI SCREEN] Boxart Reproduction

24. June 2007

My MARIO BROS. [MULTI SCREEN] GAME & WATCH arrived this week! The game itself is in mint condition. It came complete with box & instruction manual. But the box has many scratches and folds, so I scanned it, cleaned and reproduced it in 600 dpi. Tomorrow I’ll print the boxart and finish the package!
