I recently watched Sofia Coppola’s new film “Marie Antoinette” and stumbled through this weird action figure, pictured above. Sophia Coppola compiled again a very extravagant film soundtrack. Beside the common Baroque music from Vivaldi, Couperin, Rameau and Scarlatti, she utilizes New Wave, Post-Punk, Pop and modern Ambient Avantgarde music. For example two numbers from Aphex Twin’s drukqs album, “Jynweythek Ylow” and “Avril 14th”, are featured. This is unconventional and may prove controversia as historical films are rarely scored with noticeably contemporary music. A very nice, and colourful retro film indeed!
